D’Angelo Tull, 5’9″,PG, 170, 2018. Kings Christian Academy, Callaway, MD.
Grassroots Team, The District Basketball Club 17 &U .
D’Angleo had a miraculous season and was a key player leading Kings Christian Academy to the Maryland State Christian Championship and a 21-1 record. KCA needed D’Angelo to score and he came thru in huge fashion averaging 24.6 ppg, shooting 50% from the field, 3.4 assists per game. However, for The District Basketball Club and in college D’Angelo is true PG who facilitates. He is a floor general and a vocal leader for his teams exhibiting a very high basketball IQ. We have seen D’Angelo improve this off season and he has become more explosive. Thru hard work he has transformed his body from a thick football physique to a lean & stronger basketball build. For strength training I focus on high reps for all parts of my body and explosion. Last week I just missed my 1st dunk, but I will get it soon. D’Angleo adds,” My parents (Stacey & Sean ) support me tremendously on & off the court, and help me keep a very lean diet. I work out 7 days a week and strength train 3 days. ”
During the last 2 weeks we watched D’Angelo go thru his workouts with the District basketball Club. He was very impressive with his handle and pull up game. D’Angelo says, “I love basketball and I work very hard always trying to improve. Currently my strengths are running my team & facilitating for others first. Scoring is a secondary option, but if I see the opportunity is needed I can and will.
In the classroom D’Angelo carries an impressive 3.97 GPA and he is receiving interest from Rider, Columbia University, Youngstown State University, Catawba College, Queens University of Charlotte, University of Tampa Bay, University of Charleston, and Barry University. He says. ” Academics are very important to me and my parents are big influence and great models.
Playing for 19-5 District basketball Club 17 & U in Grassroots has paid big dividends for D’Angelo who says, “We play with great discipline and teamwork. I am running the point as a pass 1st PG which I will play in college and control the game tempo. Our workouts and practices have helped me tremendously, and I am in the best shape of my life.” D’Angelo shows great commitment in attending all the of District Basketball Club workouts ad games, making the 2.5 hour trip from Leondardtown, MD to the Washington, DC area with one of his parents. D’Angelo says, “My parents are great role models for me and I cherish them. I want to the best I can be for them first.” The one description that is mentioned every time a Coach or experts talks about D’Angelo is that he is a Winner.
