Prospect Spotlight: Tervondre Williams (2019)
Tervondre Williams a class of 2019 guard led McKinley Tech to a 14-8 record in his sophomore season. With the top three scorers from last season returning, expect Williams and the Trainers to improve on their record.
“I’m a versatile guard, I can score the ball, I can shoot the ball very well, and I hustle a lot on both ends of the floor,” Williams explained. “The most improved aspect in my game will be my strength and dribbling ability. Strength because I can finish at the rim with contact.”
Williams is off to a solid start at the BSN Summer League. He hit four of four from downtown in a hotly contested matchup against Georgetown Prep. Williams is always when not on the ball, and is constantly setting his teammates up for good looks.
“One thing will be my “heads up” so when a defender have a bad close out I can attack the close out with a strong “heads up” and finish at the rim,” Williams explained when asked what he’s working on. “I’m doing pretty well in school. trying to finish it off right.”
Williams is yet to receive any attention from college coaches, but the way he has responded is very commendable.
“I don’t really have anyone recruiting me right now, but I’m in the gym everyday, and hope that I have a big summer so I can get some college recognition.”
What can Williams bring to a college program?
“I can bring leadership. I can score. I can pass, and distribute the ball to create for others. I’m energetic on defense, and humble.”
