Prospect Spotlight: Phillip Jordan (2019)
Phillip Jordan, a class of 2019 guard at St. Albans, is coming off a highly productive sophomore campaign, and is poised to build on his progress. Jordan hit 30 threes as a sophomore, but his game revolves around much more than just shooting.
“One word to describe my game is complete. I play both sides of the floor with intense defense and versatility on offense – shooting and assists. I also crash the boards and get a lot more rebounds than most people realize.” Jordan explained. “One thing I do on the court is control the game through my intensity and leadership on offense and defense.”
The other night at BSN Summer League, Jordan pulled down 13 rebounds from the point guard position. This was particularly impressive because he kept giving max effort despite his shot not falling.
“The most improved aspect of my game is my shooting overall from three point to mid range,” said Jordan. “I’m developing a more versatility to take defenders off the dribble, create space, and get my shot.”
St. Albans has an intense and difficult course load. Jordan is not sure what my GPA is because our grades have not been released for this past year, but he is doing well in school. Jordan plans to attend some prospect camps later this month, and has received interest from programs of all levels.
What can Jordan bring to a college program?
“I bring good leadership and energy to both sides of the ball. I compete every game and every minute to get steals, assists, rebounds and scoring. I refuse to let someone out-work me.”
