2020 Rankings Breakdown: Beltway Frontcourt
PrepHoops Maryland recently updated the class of 2020 player rankings. Getting a list of 35 players and choosing which rank best fits the individual was an extremely difficult challenge. With most of the list consisting of Division I prospects, there is no shortage of talent to go around.
The D.C. Metropolitan Area is known for breeding elite talent in the sport of basketball. The class of 2020 is no different. Here’s a closer look at the Beltway area front court players from the rankings.
HUNTER DICKINSON | 7’0 C | DEMATHA/TEAM TAKEOVER | #1 OVERALL
Dickinson was the only 2020 at the NBPA Top 100 camp, and more than held his own against the nations best. The skilled 7 footer has some toughness to him, and has more than held his own on the EYBL. He’s rapidly developing into a leader, and a go-to guy for the Stags.
ATWOOD NEWTON | 6’8 F | MCKINLEY TECH/TEAM THRILL | #2 OVERALL
Newton has as much upside as any prospect we’ve seen. At 6’8, he plays with a non stop motor, and moves remarkably well. Newton is a good paint getter, and a fearless competitor.
TERRANCE WILLIAMS | 6’7 F | GONZAGA/TEAM TAKEOVER | #6 OVERALL

What we like most about Williams is his ability to rebound at a high level. He plays much bigger than his listed height, and can consistently make shots from downtown. We also like how unselfish he is. Williams is an excellent passer.
TEGRA IZAY | 6’10 C | CARROLL/TEAM DURANT | #10 OVERALL
Izay has long arms, broad shoulders, and is a disruptive paint presence defensively. He runs the floor, sets big screens, and crashes the boards with purpose. He still has room for growth offensively, but we already like where he is now.
MYLES STUTE | 6’6 F | GONZAGA/TEAM TAKEOVER | #17 OVERALL

Stute is an energetic wing who can make shots, and score from all three levels. He is a high flyer, and a big time athlete who can defend well both on the perimeter and in the post.
