Unsigned Senior Alert: Shykeef Daniels
At this point of the year you would think that there is not a lot of good talent that is still unsigned, well that couldn’t be further from the truth as the 2017 class is showing they that this is a deeper class than many of them thought. One player from this class that has added some buzz to his name his D.H Conley HS Unsigned Senior Guard Shykeef Daniels who put together a very impressive performance at the Big Shots tournament in Charlotte this past weekend. Although he got off to a bit of a slower start he really turned it up in the last two games of the event, averaging 25 PPG. So what does he do well? What schools are recruiting him?
Some of the first things you will notice about Shykeef is his ability to score the ball in multiple ways and his athletic ability. He can score the ball in multiple way, can get to the basket, shoot it from midrange and three point land and as has a nice variety of moves to get to his spots. Athletically he’s the type of player that you will see opponents either getting out the way or refusing to jump with him so they will not get dunked on.
As of now his recruitment has been pretty quiet, he has received an offer from Elizabeth City State, and some other D2 schools have called to inquire about him. Also some prep schools have inquired about him as that could possibly be a route for him to take for an extra year of exposure and development.
Quote from his coach: (RAID NATION AAU): His best attribute to me is that he fights to the bitter end, no matter what the score is he’s going to play hard! He’s long and athletic, a fierce slasher, and a defensive juggernaut with a strong handle that doesn’t get bumped off the ball too often.
