Unsigned Senior Alert: Chase Woodard
Height: 6’1
AAU: Team Spectrum
Position: Guard
During the Big Shots Team Felton Tournament in Greensboro this past weekend we saw a lot of talent on the floor, one player in particular that caught my eye was unsigned senior Chase Woodard. Woodard has a very smooth game overall and can knock down shots from deep at a high rate, his recruitment as of now is wide open so colleges should definitely be on him. It must be noted that he is a two sport athlete, as well as playing basketball he is also a standout football player. We got a chance to talk with Chase after their win over the Charlotte Dragons where he went for 14 Points, and we got the chance to speak about what he does to prepare himself for games as well as what the deciding factors will be when he picks a school.
Q: What’s something that you learned from the game with the Charlotte Dragons?
Chase: We just have to keep hustling the whole game, we go on breaks where we aren’t hustling the whole time which gives our opponents the opportunity to go on runs.
Q: Do you feel like playing football helps you with your basketball game?
Chase: Yes sir it helps a lot, being able to get hit on the field translates over because it helps me to be able to take fouls and stuff when I go to the basket.
Q: What are you looking for in a college program?
Chase: I’m mainly looking for the college classes, what type of academic programs they have a things like that.
Q: What do you define yourself as position wise?
Chase: A slasher, I feel like I can get into the paint well.
Q: Any pregame rituals?
Chase: I talk to God, just pray and ask him to guide me and my teammates through the game. That’s pretty much it.
