Underclassmen Stock Risers
Anthony Hicks (Team Winston)-The North Forsyth HS rising senior has the size and skill set to play at the mid-to-high major Division 1 basketball level. With the ball in his hands and when he is allowed to run the show is when Hick’s is at his best. He has the size to effective at the next level already at this point in his career. North Forsyth is known for producing high-level guards, as Kedrick Flomo played at Murray State a few years back.
Anthony HicksIan Steere (Team Charlotte)- Has anyone even on a national level, had quite the spring that Steere has had? He picked up offers from Kansas, Florida State and Georgia to name a few. The big man runs the floor, gets blocks on defense and dunks in transition. Playing with Team Charlotte coaches by Jeff McInnis, Steere is getting maximum exposure on the Under Armour circuit.
Jalen Lecque (Southern Stampede)- Lecque has bombarded the travel basketball circuit with his high-flying dunks and with the high-major offers he had landed over the first month of the “second season.” Lecque announced his intentions to transfer to North Carolina prep powerhouse Christ School almost a month ago and things have been going great ever since. Florida, St. John’s, Georgia and VCU among others.
John Newman (Team CP3)-Newman is a knock-down shooter from three point range, he can knock down the mid-range shot, and with his length he is one of the best slashers in the country. A native of Greensboro, he is smooth with the basketball and can get to the rim with ease. Clemson, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest are the latest schools to show interest and offer the rising senior.
Newman is long and a deft passer, he sees the entire floor well and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands.
