Under the Radar Freshmen
The freshman class is almost done with their first year of high school and we are taking a look at some of the under the radar players that will make names for themselves over the rest of the summer and into next season.
Creighton LeboKris Robinson 5’10 PG (Lincolnton High School)-Robinson is one of the better point guard prospects that I have seen this spring. Robinson is a 5-foot-10 floor general who has started off the season averaging around 15 points per game for Lincolnton HS. He can score from all over the floor. He is best from outside of the three-point line. He has great form on his shot, can spot up or catch and shoot off the ball. He has good court vision and can find the open slots in transition. A change of pace helps him get past defenders and he can finish at the basket with either hand. He is a coach’s son who will only get better over the next three years. One to watch and keep an eye on.
Dedric Givens 6’6 W (Olympic HS)-Givens who is playing with Team Charlotte this spring/summer, is a long and athletic wing. He scores off the dribble or can knock down the mid-range jumper, he can step out to the 3 point line, is a solid defender, has a solid handle, is a good passer from the high post. Playing in the AAU organization that is coached by former NBA player Jeff McInnis will only help in Givens’ development.
Creighton Lebo 6’0 PG (JH Rose HS)-The son of East Carolina University head coach Jeff Lebo is making a name for himself as well. Playing with Team Loaded, the 2020 Creighton is a scorer and is a pure point guard. He has a high basketball IQ, can score from all over the floor, plays hard every possession.
Wesley Case 5’11 G (Eastern Wayne HS)-Case is one of the better shooters that I saw this spring. He can really get it going from deep and rattle three or four off in a row without hesitation. Playing with Garner Road, Case is a skilled guard that Dwayne West loves to develop. Case teams up with another young prospect, Carson McCorkle during the spring/summer.
