Recruiting Report: Tyler Maye (2017)
The states #1 unsigned senior’s recruitment is heating up more and more as each day passes, just as recently as this week he received offers from Dayton & VCU. Those two offers go along with a host of other offers he holds such as: East Carolina, Kansas State, New Hampshire, Winthrop, Kansas State and Charlotte. Although no official timetable has been set for his decision one would expect that it’s only a matter of time as the summer is quickly approaching. Over the past year we have seen Tyler blow up in the recruiting world after an outstanding junior season in which he helped lead Farmville to an undefeated season and state championship.
What does he bring to a program at the next level?
The first thing that you will notice about Tyler is that he is a high quality young man off the court, he’s extremely respectful and handles his business in the classroom. So first and foremost he is going to be an asset to the team in the classroom and on campus, he will be a player that the university will have great pride in representing them. Secondly he is a very gifted scoring guard, this year he eclipsed the 40 point mark numerous times and the most impressive part of it is he didn’t seem to force plays at all. He understand how to get his shot off under intense defensive pressure and will only be even more lethal of a player as he adds more muscle to his frame in the near future. Another trait about Tyler that I love is how coachable he is, speaking with Coach Larry from Farmville Central he always speaks on how much of a pleasure it is having Tyler on his team on and off the floor. He’s already taken an official visit to Nebraska and will be taking a visit to VCU soon.
