Prospect Spotlight: Rajeir Jones (2019)
Rajeir Jones, a sophomore wing at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, has been an integral factor for 16U Team Melo during their impressive spring. Jones has found ways to make a significant impact on both ends of the floor, but that is no surprise as he’s known for being a hard worker.
“I bring a energy to the court on the defensive end, and I give it my all on both ends,” Jones explained. “Also the ability to hit open shots consistently.”

Jones has good size at 6’3, and long arms which make him a good rebounder for his position. Jones likes to attack especially in transition, and can hit shots in the middle areas of the floor but is also a creative finisher at the rim. One thing Jones does that he believes may go unnoticed is his constant communication on the defensive end.
“I’m working on being able to break my defender down off the dribble,” Jones stated. “I currently have a 3.0 GPA, and have been constantly improving in school.”
While Jones is yet to receive his first offer, plenty of division one programs have him on their radar. Tulsa, Temple, Drexel, Mount St. Mary’s, Holy Cross, and Long Beach State to name a few. What can Jones bring to a college program?
“I will bring a will to always get better, and constantly work on and off the court.”
