Prep Hoops takes a look at some quick notes that happened this week in the Palmetto State.
Deuce Dean has decided to transfer to York Prep Academy for next season. Dean (2019) point guard is ranked in the Top 5 in the 2019 Prep Hoops South Carolina Class. Dean plays AAU with Team Loaded North Carolina and the South Carolina Kings.
Dean is transferring in from Dutch Fork HS. Dean averaged 8.8 ppg and 4.3 assists this season for the 16-9 Silver Foxes. Dean has received plenty of interest this spring from Virginia Tech, The Citadel, Tennessee, Central Florida, Kansas State, Toledo, Wake Forest, Florida and South Carolina.
Ryan Carfley (2018) has informed Prep Hoops that he will transfer to Wilson HS (Florence) next season. Carfley 6’9 post player played this past season at Marion HS. Carfley plays AAU with Garner Road and sometimes Big Shots South Carolina. Carfley played his sophomore year at Creek Bridge HS (Gresham). Carfley averaged 8 ppg and 6.5 rebounds this season for the 18-6 Swamp Foxes.
Tayler Wade (2017) will continue his college career at Limestone (NCAA D2). Wade a Midland Valley HS product averaged 14.8 ppg, 4.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists this season for the Mustangs. Wade finished his career with 1,122 points. Wade is ranked #35 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Chandon Davis (2017) will attend Claflin (NCAA D2) next season. Davis 6’3 played his high school career at Fairfield Central HS in Winnsboro. Davis made the 3A All-State Team this past season. Davis averaged 11.7 ppg and 9.1 rebounds. Davis is ranked #60 in the Prep Hoops Top 125. Davis played AAU with the Carolina Wolves.
Rod Culver (2017) has signed with USC-Salkehatchie for next season. Culver 6’3 guard from Fox Creek HS is ranked #76 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season. Culver averaged 16.7 ppg, 8.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.3 steals for the Predators this season. Culver finished his career with 928 points and 492 rebounds. Culver made the 2A All-State Team this season. The Predators finished the season at 15-10.
