NC East vs West ASG Team Preview: East All-Stars
The rosters for the NC East vs West game are all set! With the Players being announced it looks like North Carolina is in for another great show of competition between the East and West side of the state youngsters. Last year the East squad took the win with future WSSU Ram and CIAA Rookie of the Year Robert Colon taking home the MVP honors. So who made the roster cut for both teams this season? Let’s take a quick look at the youngsters who made the cut for the East squad first and then we will take a look at the west.
East
Fike HS F Samson Strickland: A very hard worker that can score and rebound the ball very well, brings consistent energy and can step out to knock down shots.
Garner HS F Alex Reed: Strong player that can play inside and out, was a key player for Garner during their championship run.
Clinton HS Guard Jeremiah Pope: Pope is a special talent that, he’s a 6’3 guard that not only has natural scoring ability but also can facilitate. He also has some showmanship to his game so don’t be surprised to see him put on a show for the fans in attendance.
North Pitt HS Devonte Pettaway: This young man is a scoring machine, although he is a quiet young man his game does more than enough of the talking. He competes on both ends of the floor.
Northampton HS Jaquan Miles: Miles was one of the most highly sought after players by JC programs and if you watch him play you can easily see why. That 6’6 wing averaged 30 Points and 20 rebounds per game this season and his potential to get even better is clearly there.
Whiteville HS Guard Tyrell Kirk: The UNCP signee earned the nickname of Mr. Triple Double with his ability to: score, rebound, and assist on a consistent basis throughout this season.
Orange HS Connor Crabtree: Has a chance to be really special, can score the ball in multiple ways, an absolute headache for opponents to try and guard.
Apex HS Forward Eric Fox: Fox is what we would call a stretch forward player, he can shoot the deep ball as well as play inside. He has a very long wingspan and is receiving interest from numerous D2 schools at this point.
Northside HS Guard Zach Hobbs: Hobbs is one of the top three point shooters in the state, he is especially productive shooting the ball off the catch and is currently the leading scorer in his high school’s history.
Leesville Road Forward Alex Hunter: Hunter was a big part of Leesville Road’s success this season, he can play inside and out and has a college level frame already.
