Big Shots Tourney 2018 Standout Players
Team Buckets 17U Demetrius Jones: Was automatic from the high post throughout the day, very athletic player that can guard bigger forwards and smaller wings.
Team Buckets 17U Jason Robinson: Scored the ball early and often, got to the spots he wanted, is a low turnover player. Has decent height for a PG.
Team Buckets 17U Guard Gabe Kirkendoll: Has a college level frame already, knocked down outside shots at a high rate, unselfish player.
Durham Hurricanes 2018 Wing Trey Murphy III: Was on fire from deep, throughout the day, has a long wingspan and smooth mechanics on his shot. Great kid and great student, Ivy League programs should be all over him.
Durham Hurricanes 2018 Guard Jalen Johnson: Jalen is a physical guard that has impressive upper body strength that helps him get where he wants. Has good shooting form, solid ball handler that doesn’t turn it over very often.
Team Spectrum 2018 Wing Cameron O’connor: Can shoot the ball well from deep, has nice height for an outside player. Very efficient knocking down shots off the catch, doesn’t allow himself to be crowded by any defender.
Team Spectrum 2018 Forward Cole Meadow: Impressive athletic ability, had multiple plays above the rim on both ends on the floor. Can score inside thru contact, has a nice face up game when in the post.
NC Disciples Elite Rashad Dixon: One of the best athletes in the building, has a frame like a grown man. Is always active on the boards and has increased his scoring range from inside and midrange to knocking down the trey ball.
Charlotte Dragons Guard Jaysen Shular: Has a nice smooth game, got to his spots and forced the defense to collapse. Also showed an impressive ability to handle the ball and not be forced into turnovers even though he was faced with different types of defensive schemes.
