Prep Hoops takes a look at some Stock Risers from this weekend at Big Shots – Team Felton in Greensboro, NC.
Montez Venable (2018) – Eastern Guilford HS (Gibsonville, NC)- New Light Disciples
Venable is a left-handed point guard than can really attack the basket. Venable used the floater in the lane today quite impressively. Venable shakes and bakes to get by defenders. Venable really likes to get up on his man and defend. Venable averaged 16.3 ppg and grabbed 4.5 rebounds a game this season at Eastern Guilford HS. Venable currently has scored 1,006 points in his high school. Eastern Guilford HS finished the season at 29-4.
Ricky Clemons (2018) – Rolesville HS (Raleigh, NC) – WCBA Elite White
Clemons a left-handed guard has been piling up points on the Big Shots Circuit this spring. Clemons a off guard used his body well to get to the basket today. Clemons made 12 free throws in the game we watched today. Clemons played with Team Felton last April 2016 before coming over WCBA.
Travion McCray (2018) – West Florence HS (Florence, SC) – Karolina Khaos 17U
McCray a point guard really showed out well this weekend for the Karolina Khaos. McCray went over 1,000 points earlier this season at West Florence HS after transferring over from nearby Timmonsville HS. McCray 6’2 got to the basket when he wanted to today and showed great body control. McCray hit several mid-range jumpers in leading the Karolina Khaos to the 17U Orange Bracket Championship Game vs Team Felton.
Mike Marsh (2018) – Gray Collegiate Academy (West Columbia, SC) – Karolina Khaos 17U
Marsh has really trimmed down in the last 4-5 months and looked really solid this weekend for the Khaos. Marsh 6’9 post player caught the ball on the block and showed a soft touch on his shot today. Marsh has no problem drawing contact in the paint with back to the basket. Marsh will look to have a big senior year this season at Gray Collegiate Academy for head coach Dion Bethea.
Riley Adams (2019) – Panther Creek HS (Cary, NC) – Big Shots North Carolina 2019
Adams is a crafty point guard with a great feel for the game. Adams keeps you honest on the floor with his outside shooting. Adams scored 19 points and dropped 5 three pointers in a win for Big Shots North Carolina 2019. Adams plays for his father Mark who coaches the Big Shots North Carolina 2019 team. Adams is a great passer and really likes to utilize the bounce pass when needed.
