Big Shots Charlotte with Paul Biancardi of ESPN was another high-level tournament put on by Jeff and Kevin Schnieder of the Big Shots organization. With a plethora of solid programs from the region, Team Charlotte took home the hardware in the top division. Team Charlotte took home championships in the 13U, 14U,15U, 16U and 17U at Big Shots Charlotte.
The play of Top 50 national recruit Devon Dotson (also named MVP), Ian Steere, Aaron Wiggins and the rest of Team Charlotte, the Jeff McInnis coached Team Charlotte 17U team took down Team TMP 62-49 in the finals. Team Charlotte beat Palmetto Elite 71-50, Big Shots JWB 63-35 and Team Winston 50-46 to be able to play one of the biggest teams in the region, Team TMP on Mother’s Day Sunday in the Championship of the 17 boys Division. 6’5 Aaron Nesmith of Team TMP poured in 17 points and saw his stock rise over the weekend. MVP Devon Dotson is just a winner, does it at every level he has played at. He plays so hard on both ends of the floor. He is a lockdown defender and is nearly impossible to guard with the ball in his hands.
In the 17U Blue Boys Division, Winston Lake Lakers beat Blue and Gold Hawks 58-49, Denver Nuggets 54-47, Truth Generation Elite 63-54 and Mooresville Magic 2018’s 53-28 in the finals. MVP Ian Henderson of Winston Lake Lakers was strong throughout the weekend.
In the 16U Division, Team Charlotte took down Big Shots Elite NC 2019’s 69-67 to claim the top two-division champuisonhips of Big Shots Charlotte.
Team Charlotte 15U continued the dominance into the 15U bracket by taking down Big Shots Elite West Virginia and top 2020 prospect Kaden Metheny 69-54.
In the 14U Division, Jordan McPhatter, a class of 2021 prospect for Team Charlotte was one to keep an eye over the next year. A skilled guard who can play at a high level. Has a great handle and has fight.
