Big Shots : 16U Standouts
Prep Hoops took in the action Saturday from the Team Felton event in Greensboro, NC. Here are some 16U kids that stood out to us while attending the event.
Nic Cheeley (2019) – Eastern Guilford HS (Gibsonville) – North Carolina Top Flight
Cheeley 6’1 plays football and runs track while also being a hoop player. Cheeley helped the Wildcats to 29-4 season this past year while averaging 7.5 ppg. Cheeley makes plays on the floor and really sees the floor well. Cheeley a pass first type player is very unselfish and really communicates well with his teammates as a vocal leader.
Cheeley told Prep Hoops he might be playing some quarterback this season after his football team finished the season at 15-1. Cheeley played wide receiver and defensive back last season.
Kojack Thompson (2019) – The Christ School (Arden) – Karolina Khaos 16U
Thompson spent his first season as a Greenie this past season. Thompson originally from Mauldin, SC played at Southside Christian in Greenville, SC before arriving in Western Northern Carolina. Thompson is a jet quick point guard that can penetrate the gaps. Thompson reclassified after arriving in Arden and should be a name you will here of in the years to come.
Sean “Tony” Hauser (2019) – Northside Christian Academy – Charlotte Nets 16U
Hauser 6’8 recently transferred over to Northside Christian Academy from Charlotte United Christian Academy. Hauser has a soft touch from 8-10 feet and shows really good hands in the post. Hauser thinks he could still grow some more in the future. Hauser averaged just 3.8 ppg and 3.5 rebounds this past season at CUCA. Hauser is still a raw talent that will only get better.
Paul Hudson (2019) – Charlotte Christian – Charlotte Dragons 16U
Hudson 6’5 forward had several block shots today in the win over Charleston Strong. Hudson left-handed combo forward 4/3 type is long and rangy and very active on both ends of the floor. Hudson is leaving South Mecklenburg HS to play at Charlotte Christian next season according to his father. Hudson averaged 8.2 ppg, 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks last season for the Sabres.
Seth Bennett (2019) – Charlotte Christian – Charlotte Dragons 16U
Bennett is a bit of a one-trick pony for the Dragons. Bennett hit several shots all day today from behind the arch Hudson will join Bennett next fall at Charlotte Christian. Bennett 6’2 off guard averaged 6 ppg this past season for the 22-8 Knights.
Quandre Bullock (2019) – Franklinton HS (Franklinton) Franklin County Bulls 16U
Bullock scored 20 points vs Carolina Pressure. Bullock 6’0 hit several shots behind the arch and seems to have a very smooth stroke. Bullock needs to get better away from the ball.
