The North Carolina class of 2019 is as loaded as the 2016 class in the recruiting and potential facet of overall talent. The guard position and post players in this class are as good as it gets. Colleges looking to build a program around those two positions will not have to travel far to find players that can fill that void. Here is a look at some of the top big men prospects in the state for the 2019 class.
Derricko Williams (6’8, 2019) Kinston HS-Explosive is the word that comes to mind first when Williams is mentioned. Athletic and high energy, Williams is a beast on both ends of the floor. He can block shots and rebound. He finishes everything at the rim when he gets the ball down low. His motor is unparalleled in his class. Willaims is also a standout on the football field for Kinston HS.
Imajae Dodd (6’8, 2019) Greene Central-Dodd is a big with a great touch around the basket, he takes up a lot of space in the post and can score with his back to basket or facing it. He is long and athletic and has really good footwork at this point in his game. He has offers from Tulane, East Carolina, Charlotte, Old Dominion and Coastal Carolina.
Deaundre Wilkins (6’10, 2019) Wesleyan Christian-The Trojan big man is coached by former Maryland Terrapin big man Keith Gatlin at Wesleyan Christian. Wilkins is a big force in the paint and can damage rims with his physical game. He is long, has a college ready build for the post. He gets good position for rebounds and can be a problem on defense for the opposition.
Emmanuel Inzunabor (6’9, 2019) Fayetteville Academy-Izunador is a high energy big man. He has great timing, ability to grab rebounds and block shots.
