Many times we see a player that has simply fallen through the cracks of the recruiting world, they are talented but not many know about them so it causes college coaches to not recruit them as hard or at all. That is the story of Tyree Wiggins, a young man who is very talented with loads of potential and is actually a very solid player and prospect already. We have to give a huge shout out once again to our guy Tony Bruton for telling us about him first, as well as shooting him an invite to the Basketball Elite Fab 40 Camp. Although evaluating at camp can be difficult at times, he was very impressive throughout and JUCO coaches that need a wing should be all over this young man.
What makes him special?
First of all is his ability to score the ball within the flow of an offense, he’s not a player that you would call a ball stopper or that will try and get his own before the team. He knocks down shots at a high rate from deep off the catch and off the dribble as well as getting to the basket with nice efficiency, but most importantly he is a very unselfish player. Part of that is probably due to him playing his high school ball with high scoring teammate D.J Suggs, both he and D.J were gifted high school scorers and understood how to feed the hot man. Also what really excites me about this player is his potential, he’s only scratching the surface of how good he can be and in the right program he will have a chance to perfect his craft even more. He’s got nice athleticism and acceleration, so once he gets out into transition he has a high rate of either scoring it or making a play for his teammates.
