Team Wall PG Malik Johnson picks up his first offer!
As we know it’s the time of year for youngsters to get the scholarship offers that they have been working so hard for. This past weekend we have seen a ton of players from North Carolina receiving scholarship offers and interest including 2019 Trinity Christian Forward Joey Baker who just picked up an offer from Kansas today. However there was one player that hadn’t received a single offer up until this day, being one of the more talented players in the state and region it was difficult to watch this youngster play at a very high level at not receive any offers. Starting the high school season later in the season this year he got going as soon as he stepped on the floor and did big things for Terry Sanford HS. He and his brother Telligence Johnson would team up with the other new additions to the squad and go on a very impressive run, even though they would come up short you had to be impressed with how they played.
After the season Malik rejoined Team Wall once again for his 3rd year in a row and picked right back up where he left off during the high school season. The youngster was impact player from day one doing what he’s known for, getting buckets, playing lock down defense and running the team as a PG should. The squad would go on to win their first two tournaments and then won the tournament chip again during live period, after the event via the Team Wall twitter page we began to see the interest for Malik picking up, schools like Hampton, Western Carolina and others were now showing more interest. Later In the evening I received a text from Team Wall director Kendrick Williams that I had been waiting for, for a very a long time and it was that Rhode Island had offered Malik Johnson. This may be the start that of a big time summer for Malik as many time’s we know all it takes is for one school to offer and other will follow suit, so schools should stay tuned to Malik Johnson this summer as he is a prospect on the rise!
