Team Wall 17U Continues to Roll , Currently 16-0
It is unknown how teams will play before the spring and summer session begin, with many teams adding new players on a yearly basis you never how they will mesh with the old players and coaching staff. Well the youngsters with Team Wall have not only meshed well but have flat out dominated the teams that they’ve been matched with so far this spring. Most recently they won the Hampton Nike Showcase Tournament beating Ring City Elite 65-57, prior to that they won the Big Shots DC Premier event Championship with Kris Monroe knocking down a game winning trey ball just prior to time expiring. Their first championship of the spring came during the Icebreaker Invitational Tournament down in South Carolina where they would truly begin to turn heads with the way they played the game together.
The teams is coached by a very well established and well respected coaching staff and have a nice amount of talent on the roster, all who have shown the ability to by in and do what’s best for the team. Guard Malik Johnson has been with Team Wall basically since his freshman year of high school, and each year he has come back even better, it’s only a matter of time before D1 programs began to offer this young man. D.J Myers is in his second year with the team but he has come up big not only scoring the ball but also being an absolute beast on the boards. Then you have players like Jomaru Brown , High flying Wing Zion Autry , Physical player Jonathan Hicklin, Stretch Forward Milos Galogaza and many more who all have played roles in helping the squad reach the 16-0 record. Last but not least is Forward Kris Monroe who may be the player that came in to the spring on the squad as the most highly recruited. However his humble mannerism and outstanding performance on the court is a perfect fit for the squad chemistry wise and we see it all playing off. According to the team’s media page college coaches have definitely taken notice with many in attendance this weekend during live period, as the team continues to win we know the numbers of coaches and most importantly scholarship offers will continue to grow.
