Quick View: Comets Little
Comets Little is one of several Minnesota Comets 17U teams but an interesting club that we wanted to look a little closer at.
Roster:
Noah Kannegiesser of Hancock (5’11 point guard, 25.2pg)
Kobey Woolhouse of Mayer Lutheran (6’1 point guard, 18.4pg)
Phillip Dromgoole of St. Cloud Apollo (6’1 combo guard, 11.4pg)
Conner Baue of St. Cloud Tech (5’10 shooting guard)
Nick Bieniek of Annandale (6’3 shooting guard, 14pg)
Sam Olson of Rocori (6’3 shooting guard, 17pg)
Isaiah Anderson of St. Cloud Cathedral (6’4 post)
Cade Neubert of Sauk Centre (6’5 post, 12pg)
Alex Toedter of Maple Lake (6’4 post, 12pg)
Weston Hine of Kimball (6’8 post, 8pg)
Zac Fincher of Stephen Argyle (6’7 post, 10pg, 12rp)
Five Points:
- Coach Steve Little has moved up with this group for the past four years. Many of these players are very familiar with one another so when they take on a team that is new to one another they could surprise especially early in the year.
- The additions of Weston Hine of Kimball Area and Zac Fincher fro Stephen-Argyle give them more height than in previous years. They are both in the 6-foot-7/6-foot-8 area. Fincher is a bruiser I’ve been hearing about for years so it will be fun to see them
- Also the additions of Phil Dromgoole and Kobey Woolhouse give them two scorers at the guard position. Kobey is a main weapon for a Mayer Lutheran team that is likely to be preseason top ten next year as they have talent and bring back so much
- Seven players return from last years team led by Kannegieser who is coming off a record setting high school season. He scored over 25 a game and you likely saw him on recently honored teams after such a great year.
- Sleepers in this group are Hine and Dromgoole. Having a rim protector in Hine and the defensive stopper in Dromgoole they will add two important pieces for Comets Little.
