Player Spotlight: Tracus Chisholm (2017)
It has been quite the year for York Prep Senior Shooting Guard Tracus Chisholm, for the majority of the season despite impressive numbers he was slept on as a college prospect. One program that stopped in and saw him wasted no time in going ahead and offering the young sharp shooting guard a scholarship and that was Mars Hill. We truly believe that his game will transition well to the next level not only because of his skillset but also do to the fact of how hard he works on his game. In a game that I personally saw him play against Trinity Christian which features multiple top 2019 prospect in the state, he went off and finished with 39 Points, including 11 treys with the majority coming in the first three quarters. Just recently he added another award to his trophy case as he was named All-Area Player of the Year, his averages for the season were: 21 PPG, 4 AST, 4 Rebs, so as you can see even though he is a tremendous scorer he also contributes in other ways. Recently we got to chat with Tracus briefly about the season that his team had as well as his goals for the future once he steps on the campus of Mars Hill.
Question: How did the season go in your opinion?
Tracus: The season went well, we set goals for ourselves at the beginning of the season and we accomplished just about all of them!
Question: What was the deciding factor in you choosing Mars Hill?
Tracus: The biggest factor was the coaching staff treating me like family! Also the expectations and goals they have for me. Lastly would be the environment of the games!
Question: When I saw you play you knocked down 11 treys, is that something you focus on in the off season?
Tracus: I work on my shot a lot during the offseason. I get up in between 500-1,000 game like shots a day, so during the game it’s just like second nature!
Question: What are your goals for freshman year of college?
Tracus: My goals for my freshman year is to turn the program of mars hill around, win the SAC conference, and win freshman of the year for the SAC
