Mooresville Magic 16U Breakdown
The Mooresville Magic organization has been one of the top non-shoe sponsored programs in North Carolina for a while now. At the Upward Stars Carolina’s Cup a few weeks ago I had the chance to watch their 16U team in action.
1 – Demarcus Johnson
Lake Norman High School – 6’4 SG / SF with great ability to shoot the 3 ball – Can finish on any play above the rim – 90% FT shooting is a plus on close games
Schools that have shown interests are App State Davidson Wake Forest
2 – Austin Edds
Lake Norman HS – 6’2 PG / SG who is a true floor general who can score from anywhere on the floor – His ability to shoot the 3 ball from deep makes him very hard to guard – Very high IG when running the point guard position .
3 – Zane Haglan
Lake Norman HS – 6’1 SG PG with great shooting ability to score even when being guarded – His ability to get through traffic and score on defenders makes him tough to defend – excellent rebounding and shot blocking abilities.
App State & Catawba have shown interest
4 – Zach Schulz
Lake Norman HS 6’1 SG – Strong aggressive player with ability to attack the rim and shut down most scoring guards – Great rebounding for his size .
5 – Griffin White
Mooresville HS – SG – Excellent all around guard who can score at will – Has great range when shooting the 3 – Ability to rebound even when he is outsized
6 Jalen Oneal
Concord HS 6’5 SF / PF – Smooth Forward with nice touch around the rim – His ability to run the floor and finish on fast breaks is a plus for his size – Great shot blocking and rebounding make him a nice addition to the Magic this season
7 – Jacob Hendrix
Davie County 6’4 SF / PF – Very versatile player with impressive range and ability to knock down consecutive shots – Great Upside is his toughness and ability to shot block and defend in the paint
8 – Jeriamiah Mott
Statesville HS 6’1 PG /SG – Quick and speedy guard with range and explosiveness when finishing at the basket – Great defender who can really lock down a player when needed .
9 – Caleb McReed
Garinger HS 6’2 PG/SG – Tough Player who impresses with attitude and ability to score from inside and out – His court vision on the offensive and defensive end makes his stock more valuable.
10 – Ty Everhart
South Iredell 6’5 SF / C – Great upside long athletic defensive type player – Excellent shot blocker – Can Finish around the rim with ease
11 – Sam Studer
Mooresville HS 6’2 SF – Impressive ability to rebound and block shots – nice range when shooting the deep ball – worker type player who gives 100% when on the floor
12 Tyler Parris
6’1 Mooresville HS Great Shooting ability can knock down the 3 ball from anywhere – Great inspiration for the team – someone who has determination and toughness getting back on the court after finishing Chemo just 1 month ago
