Meet The Player: Stephon Lloyd (2018)
Lumberton HS & Raid Nation PG Stephon Lloyd may not be a name that you are very familiar with at this point but that will all change before much longer. He had a very successful season at Lumberton High and even though the team didn’t have their best season record wise he was a huge part of why they were highly competitive throughout. He’s 6’0 with a solid frame, outstanding vision and very impressive passing ability, with the ability to score it and is a low turnover. He’s started the Spring off well with Raid Nation and the team is gearing up for competition on the Powerade Basketball Circuit this summer, we got a chance to talk with Stephon about life on and off the court and what his goals for the year are.
Q: How’s the experience with Raid Nation been so far?
Stephon: My experience with Raid Nation has been great so far, just trying to push my teammates to the next level and win as many championships as possible.
Q: What are some things you do pregame to get your mind right for game time?
Stephon: Pregame I like to listen to music, focus on the task at hand, and talk to my coach about who I’m guarding and the game plan.
Q: Favorite NBA Player & Favorite team?
Stephon: My favorite NBA player is Chris Paul and my Favorite team is the Warriors.
Q: You seem to play the floor genera role very well for your squad, is that the way you approach games or does it kindve happen on its own?
Stephon: I’ve always been a pass first player so it comes on its own and I like getting my teammates involved and helping them get better and doing whatever my coach needs me to do.
Q: What do you feel you could bring to a college program on and off the court?
Stephon: On the court I feel like I can bring a vocal/leader in their program. I bring it on the defensive and offensive end of the court. I like to make players want to play with me. Off the court I can keep the team together as a family and stay in the books.
Q: Goals for this summer and going into next season?
Stephon: My goals for this summer is to win as many championships and help me and my teammates get looked at by many different programs, my goals going into next season is getting better and training to try and help my HS team to a deep playoff run.
