Meet The Player: Nassyr Daniels
For many high school youngsters, the constant desire of receiving a scholarship offer some day is what keeps them motivated and consistently working hard. Although the percentages are always low for players that can get them, there are some that defy the odds and make their dreams come true. Village Christian Forward Nassyr Daniels is one of those youngsters, not only has he received multiple D2 scholarship offers but he recently received his first D1 offer from Air Force Academy. Nas is the type of player that know how to be productive without getting a high amount of touches, he blocks shots, runs the floor and rebounds at a very high rate. We got the chance to speak with Nas for a few moments recently about his recent recruitment, high school career and what it took to be a two time state championship.
Question: People say it’s always harder to win a 2nd championship but yet that is exactly what you guys did. How did you all pull it off?
Nassyr: We felt like we was the best team in 2a and when they seeded us a low seed that fuel us more and made us more hungry
Question: You just received your first D1 offer from Air Force Academy, how does it feel? And what’s some of the things you’re looking for when picking a school?
Nassyr: It’s feels great… like it takes a lot of pressure off my shoulders and the things that I look for is that if they have my major and if the campus is nice and playing time
Question: You’re one of the only players to attend every Fab 40 Camp since it was started a few years back, what has the experience been like for you?
Nassyr: It’s a great experience to play against all of the players in on the east side of NC
Question: What schools are recruiting you so far?
Nassyr: Newberry, Catawba, Air Force, western Carolina
Question: Every game day what’s one thing that you always do to get ready for the game?
Nassyr: I listen to music
