Meet The Player: Milos Galogaza (2018)
Cape Fear Christian & Team Wall Forward Milos Galogaza has been making a name for himself as of late, he is a stretch forward type player that can knock down threes offensively but brings effort on defense as well. We got the chance to sit down and chat with Milos recently not only about basketball but about life off the court and being an international player in the US.
Q: So long have you been in the U.S and how long have you been in North Carolina? What were you up to before you got to Cape Fear Christian?
Milos: Well I have been playing basketball since I was 9 years old so I’ve been playing and practicing since then. I was in California playing at private school out there, we had a good season but the coach got fired so I was changing schools at ended up coming to Cape Fear.
Q: What’s the adjustment been like from being in California to North Carolina?
Milos: It was a lot different when I to California from overseas because life was so much faster, North Carolina is not like Serbia but it’s a little bit calmer.
Q: CFCA has a good amount of international players on the roster, do you guys talk about that type of stuff when you’re around each other?
Milos: Last year when I was in California I had six Serbian players with me too, but it’s always good to have other international players with you that share the same feeling about being away from family so it’s always good to talk with them.
Q: What do you feel has been the key to your success during the HS & AAU season?
Milos: First is definitely the hard work, coaches have helped me a lot, Coach Miller has helped me adjust to the pace of the game. Team Wall, we have already won 3 championships, I’m looking forward to a great AAU season and possibly more championships.
Q: One of the players from Team Wall is Malik Johnson who many people know for talent & passion he plays with, how has it been playing with him?
Milos: It’s a lot of people that like to watch him play so games are always pretty packed with fans and he’s explosive, it’s really fun playing with him.
Q: How your recruitment been so far?
Milos: Wyoming, Stetson, NJIT, Georgia Tech came to see me as well
Q: Did you watch college and NBA games when you were overseas?
Milos: I watched EuroBasket of course but yea I watched the NBA a lot but not much college basketball besides March Madness because we didn’t get the chance to really see much of it over there.
Q: Who is a player that you always looked up to?
Milos: He’s from my country, his name is Nikola Bjelica , we play the same position, he is a shooter like I am, and he can post up and play all around.
Q: Serbia team has always given the USA some problems do you watch those games? Or do you remember them?
Milos: Yes, in the Olympics last year, we lost by 3 Points and we had a shot to tie it up but the player missed.
Q: Favorite NBA Player and Team?
Milos: The Cavs and Kevin Love
