Former Kentucky Prep Star Jordan Brangers Commits to Western Kentucky
South Plains College (Levelland, Texas) guard Jordan Brangers announced this past weekend his intentions to attend Western Kentucky University and join an already stacked recruiting class for Hilltoppers’ heac coach Rick Stansbury. Brangers will join 2017 Kentucky Mr. Basketball Taveion Hollingsworth and (now) Kentucky ‘Sweet Sixteen’ legend Jake Omar, along with McDonald’s All-American Mitchell Robinson (Louisiana) in Bowling Green next season.
Kentucky Roots
Brangers is no stranger to the Bluegrass State, as he played his prep years at North Hardin High School and Louisville Eastern (2013). This past season at South Plains, Brangers averaged 20.9 points per game while shooting over 44% from 3-point range. He broke former Ole Miss guard Marshall Henderson’s South Plains record for most made 3’s with 151. In a game against Mexico Military Institue, Brangers knocked down 10 3-pt field goals in one game.
Originally committed to Texas Tech, Brangers informed PHKY that he chose to ask for a release because of family reasons and so that he could play closer to home. The 6’2 sniper will have two years of eligibility left at Western Kentucky.
