Intro: Ryan Connolly (2020)
Ryan Connolly has opened the spring strong for Kessel Heat. He is coming off a productive freshman high school season for Grayslake North. The 2020 wing has good size on the perimeter and plays with a motor. Thick upper body. He finishes well around the hoop through contact. Gets on the offensive glass and drives strong where he puts it on the deck and went at his man. Pure looking stroke from three with clean mechanics. Connolly will be one to continue to monitor in the 2020 group.
He chatted with us about his freshman season.
“We had a good team. We did lose our first game in regionals. I feel we had an aggressive team that played well together. I think I played well for a freshman. I had a great point guard that fed me the ball and got me open shots. That helped me.”
Connolly is the go to player for Kessel Heat 15U squad this spring. What is he looking forward to about playing with them?
“Playing in big tournaments against better competition. I see my role being a leader and helping leading them to get wins.”
Connolly tells PrepHoopsIllinois he is looking to improve in a couple of areas.
“Defense and ball handling.”
