Intro: Elliot Sieger (2020)
Class of 2020 Elliot Sieger is a 5’11” point guard from DePaul Prep that made quite a bit of noise during his first season of high school basketball. Not only did he play varsity, but he was one of the go to players for one of the Chicago areas top 2A squads. I think you have to be impressed with the maturity he has for the game at a young age. Calm and composed with the ball in his hands. Will need to add strength to his slight frame as time goes on to play at the college level. Makes sound decisions with the ball and gets others involved. As a scorer he can hit a three, but it has a bit of a slow release. They tend to go in at a solid clip though. Good ball handler that should continue to improve as a scorer throughout his career as he already puts up solid numbers early in his development. One of the top point guards in the state’s 2020 class. Impressive to see him holding his own playing up two age levels with the Illinois Wolves 17U.
Sieger broke down his freshman season at DePaul Prep where he put himself on the map!
“It was good. Great experience playing against a lot of really good guys in the 2A level. Got a lot of good tournaments in and played well with my teammates. I think I played pretty good. I played up to what I thought were my abilities and make a statement. That was what I was able to do.”
What are the strengths in his game?
“Definitely my shooting, my defense, and my speed are three of the things that really help me a lot.”
Sieger is playing up at the 17U level with the Illinois Wolves on the UAA circuit this spring.
“It is going to be great. I feel like I am definitely going to get a lot more experience for my sophomore year. When I am able to come back to my high school team I will be able to play much better than I have.”
He is receiving a lot of mail from D1 schools, but no offers at this time.
