17U Blue Roster
Diego Bernard, 6’0, PG, 2018, St. Joseph Lafayette
One of the premier point guards in the Kansas City area this past season, Bernard is a blur with the ball, able to go end-to-end with elite speed. He also has the ability to create in the half court off the bounce, can lead a team at the point guard position and is an improving shooter.
Tyson Cathy, 6’5, 2018, Liberty North
A really good post defender and rebounder, Cathy was a terrific shot blocker at the high school level flowing in the footsteps of several good bigs at Liberty North. He is a physical player who isn’t afraid to mix it up inside.
Jeremiah Garrett, 5’11, PG, 2018, Bishop Miege
Strong, physical point guard who plays a smart game. Is a consummate floor general type, a good leader who has a high basketball IQ.
Clay Gayman, 6’6, F, 2018, Nevada
A skilled forward that can post up, drive to the bucket and knock down the 3. Gayman is a ferocious rebounder who outworks and out-hustles opponents. Few player compete harder or play with a bigger motor.
Tommy Hoambrecker, 6’3, G, 2018, St. Pius X
A solid all-around guard, Hoambrecker has some size, is a knock down 3-point shooter and has a versatile game. Can post up and score in the paint, handle the ball on the perimeter and is a smart player.
Cecil Lee, 6’6, F, 2018, Park Hill
Played behind a really good front line last year at Park HIll so didn’t receive a lot of attention, but Lee is a gazelle on the floor. He runs the floor as well as any big man, plays above the rim at both ends, finishes with slams and is a terrific shot blocker. He’s a versatile defender who can guard a man on the perimeter or a big in the paint.
Thomas Lipscomb, 6’8, F, 2018, Olathe Christian
A wing player with terrific size and length and a well-rounded skill set. Is active at both ends of the floor and is a bouncy athlete. Is slight of build, but challenges shots in the lane well and plays with a high motor. Is also a standout perimeter shooter, able to knock down 3s.
Mason Taylor, 6’2, PG/SG, 2018, Grandview
A smooth, scoring point guard that can put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways. Taylor has good size and athleticism and is able to create his own shot off the bounce as well as lead a team. He is coming off a strong junior season with Grandview and took on a much bigger role this season.
