The Class A All State Team
First Team
Isaac Johnson of Minneapolis North (Sr). Isaac gave the state champion Polars 22 points and 6.4 rebounds a night and most importantly earned himself a second first place medal in late March.
Jericho Sims of Cristo Rey Jesuit (Sr). The state’s top senior prospect and future Texas Longhorn gave his team 25 points per game averaging a double-double. What’s amazing is that Jericho is at about 30 percent of his potential.
Isaac Fink of Springfield (Soph). Isaac put up 23.3 points per game with nine rebounds and six assists a contest plus led his team in steals. The Tigers won 30 games this year with Fink shooting nearly 50 percent from the floor despite constant attention and 38 percent from the arc.
Rob McClain of Red Lake (Sr). For the second straight year Rob took his team to state with huge numbers at PG: 17.1 points, 12.3 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 5.6 steals, and 2.8 blocks a game shooting 61 percent.
Jesse Bergh of Lake Park-Audubon (Sr). Was low post dominant in northern Minnesota with his 23.2 points, 13.1 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game. Took his team to state in back to back years.
Second Team
Cade Goggleye of North Woods (Soph). Brought his team to the state final with his 19 points, six assists, and nearly five steals a contest. Shot nearly 50 percent from the field and broke records his brother set last year.
Griffin Chase of Nevis (Sr). Led his team to the state tournament with nearly 22 points per game shooting a crazy 55 percent from the floor for a guard. Chase had some monster scoring games plus average over four assists and six boards.
Bryce Irsfeld of Browerville (Sr). One of the state’s top guards had a 21 point per game season and led his team to a conference title. Irsfeld was also among the state leaders in assists and led the team to 24 wins.
Jacob McNamara of Goodhue (Sr). Goodhue made another run in their on way of play and Jacob was the leading scorer (12.6pg), rebounder (6.4rb), shot blocker, he led in steals and led the team in assists too (4.5ast). Great all around year.
Odell Wilson of Minneapolis North (Jr). The Polars won another state title and Odell averaged a double-double of 17 points and ten boards a game. Simply immovable around the basket.
Third Team
Brian Robinson of Prairie Seeds Academy (Sr). The Lycans battled to the section final with 24 wins and had their chance at North. Robinson proved his worth this year scoring nearly 23 a game but more importantly pushing the squad to many Ws.
Ethan Brouwer of Central MN Christian (Sr). This was a balanced team that entered state with 26 wins and it was Ethan who led the way with 15 points, 7.3 rebounds, a couple assists, and a team led in blocks per game.
JaQuan Sanders-Smith of Minneapolis North (Sr). The North lead guard that scored 11.5 a game plus gave the team four steals and four boards a contest. Also defended the top opposing guard with quality results.
Johnny Erickson of Hope Academy (Sr). The senior was top five in the state in scoring and top ten in the state in assists plus his team won a lot of games including Johnny’s buzzer beating memorable win over Cleveland. Average of 27 points and seven assists.
Chase Grinde of Spring Grove (Sr). The USF bound Grinde gave his team 18 points and six boards a night as the Lions won 25 games and had another nice year. Two sport standout is one of the state’s more versatile players.
Fourth Team
Noah Kannegiesser of Hancock (Jr). The Owls had a fantastic season led by the 26 points per game from Noah. One of the state’s best scorers that people may not know.
Aaron Gill of HSRA (Jr). Aaron had an explosive 28 points and 11 rebounds a contest this winter.
CJ Woda of Heritage Christian (Sr). CJ led his team to 23 wins with team highs of 21 pints and just about ten rebounds a game nearly averaging a triple-double.
Jordan Zishka of Cleveland (Sr). The double-double machine had another high octane season scoring 21 a game and pushing the Clips to 23 victories.
Luke Engen of Red Rock Central (Sr). Luke was the main man on a 24 win team that was ranked for much of the year. Luke provided a top five in state 15.5 boards a game with 17 points a game.
Fifth Team
Tate Olson of North Woods (Jr.). The second option for the state runner-up Olson gave North Woods nearly 16 a game plus was second on the team in assists.
Ben Opsahl of Goodhue (Sr.). Gave his team 12.3 points, a couple steals, four assists, and six boards a game.
Tanner Vogel of Springfield (Jr). Tanner helped Springfield to state with his 15 points, five assists, and four boards.
Ontario Chapman of Community of Peace (Sr). A must have is the actual state leader in rebounds Ontario Chapman who grabbed over 20 a game plus scored 19 points a game.
Kyler Newman of Hillcrest Lutheran Academy (Sr). Gave his team 19 points, five boards, a couple steals, and three assists a night as they won 17 games.
