John Williams, a former UNC-Asheville standout and Harlem Globetrotter trains some of the best players in Western North Carolina on a daily basis. One of the top teams in the area, Big Shots-JWB is named after him. Here is a look at the roster for the 17U team and a breakdown of each player.
Raishaun Brown
Raishaun Brown– is a elusive high IQ guard that’s can either be a true point guard or scoring guard whatever you need he will provide it, he can score off the dribble he reads pick and rolls very well.
Caleb Mills– a HIGH IQ scoring guard that can score at will and can pass as well as any true point guard, he will also sit down and guard. He reads pick n roll at a high level. He is ranked as a top 50 prospect by PrepHoopsNC.
Ben Craig – most underrated guard in WNC. He can shoot lights out. He can score off the dribble. He will guard the best player every time if he had to.
Justin Tene – 6’9 post has quick footwork, great post moves and can shoot the ball.
Deland Thomas – He is a workhorse, he will do whatever it takes to win, he
can shoot the ball very well, strong guard that doesn’t back away from
any challenge.
Jaylen Crawford – A pure point guard, he is able to create for anyone
on the team, sit downs and guards, his vision is off the charts, he
can pass the ball and will finish in the hole.
Max Spurling – He is a x-factor. He can shoot, defend, outwork, and post you up.
Chris Hemphill – 6’5 guard, very strong, he will find away to get to
the free-throw line, can pass the ball well for his position.
Max Rodgers – 6’4 freshman guard, He shoot the ball, he has long range.
