USN Carolina’s Cup Session 1 (Asheville)
The Upward Sports Nation circuit held the first session of the Carolina’s Cup in Asheville this weekend. Some very talented teams and players made the trek to the mountains to take part in the event. Here is a look at some of the players that stood out.
Demarcus Johnson of Mooresville Magic is a bouncy, athletic guard with long arms and a smooth finisher. Finishes above the rim.
Ty Everhart with Mooresville Magic is long and athletic, nice lefty scorer that can score off the dribble. Runs the floor really well.
Zane Haglan shot the ball lights out in Mooresville Magic’s first game. Finished at 8-9 from 3-point land. Really good shooter and form.
Griffin White is another good shooter for Mooresville Magic. Went 3-3 from behind the arc today. High basketball IQ and knows the game.
Jeremiah Mott is a athletic guard that can finish at rim & get into the paint. Finished with either hand for Mooresville Magic.
Austin Eades shot the ball really well for Mooresville Magic. Has great range when shooting. Long arms.
Caleb McReed is a tough defender for Mooresville Magic. Athletic and has good court vision, can finish in transition.
Jalen O’Neal of Mooresville Magic was impressive. Shot blocker with great timing. Athletic and long. Had some nice blocks and can play above the rim.
Kaiden Robinson for Gators Elite can defend, has a solid frame, quick first step and crossover. Has good body control control when attacking. Reynolds HS duo of Kaiden Robinson and Isaiah Pruett led Gators Elite with 21 points and 13 points.
Trey Irby led Rise in their win against Gators Elite with 17 points on the day. Sneaky scorer who can get them in a variety of ways.
2017 Anferni Hausley made some crucial plays for Rise Up today against Gators Elite. Strong built guard and very athletic.
2017 James Young for Rise Up is athletic and long. 6’4 unsigned senior.
