Trey Johnson to Milligan
Northern Guilford HS finished the season at 19-10 overall and advance to the fifth round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association playoffs. Senior Trey Johnson was a big factor in the team success this season and has verbally committed to Milligan College in Tennessee . The 6-foot-3 senior averaged 15.7 points per game.
PrepHoopsNC: You recently chose Milligan as your destination to play college basketball, what can you tell me about that?
Trey Johnson:I chose Milligan because I felt right at home as soon as I stepped on campus. Coach Robinson is the man and he is someone I wanted to play for. All the academics fit great and it was somewhere I wanted to be.
PrepHoopsNC: A lot of hard work goes in to being able to play at the next level. Tell me about how you came to Northern Guilford and how your senior season went.
Trey Johnson:My senior year went well. I transferred from Lincoln charter and struggled early on getting adjusted to new coaches and system, but I quickly got acclimated. We finished 3rd in conference. Northern has never made it past the second round of playoffs and this year we made it to the 5th round, where we were one of four teams left. It was a magical run and season. We finished 19-10
PrepHoopsNC: What as a freshman can you offer Milligan when you arrive on campus next season.
Trey Johnson:I think I can offer Milligan a lot. I like to say I’m a well rounded player and I can offer scoring with my ability to drive, good defense but also just someone who plays hard.
