NCHSAA 4-A Final Four Preview
As the old saying goes, “Somebody has to lose” that is the case today as undefeated Butler High School takes on Southwest Guilford High School in the NCHSAA 4-A Regional Finals at 6PM.
The Butler Bulldogs are off to a undefeated season at 30-0 and feature Lander University recruit Zane Rankin, junior guard DJ Little and junior forward Gerrelle Gates. To get to the regional finals, Butler has beat Richmond, Rocky River, RJ Reynolds and West Forsyth. Rankin is averaging almost 16 points per game, DJ Little is putting up 13 points per game and Gates right at 12 points.
Southwest Guilford High School is 26-3 on the season, and have beat Mooresville, Independence, Page and Hoke County to advance to UNC-Greensboro. The Cowboys are led by seniors Brandon Lamberth (13.2 points per game), Kameron Langley (13 points per game & 7 assists) and sophomores Keyshaun Langley (11.2 points per game) and Kobe Langley (15.2 points per game).
In the other Regional Final, at 2PM today South Central High School will take on Leesville Road High School. South Central High School is led by Sykeim Phillips (13.6 points per game) and four players that average right at 8 points per game. Wins over EE Smith HS, Athens Drive HS, Green Hope and Apex HS. This is only the second appearance in the NCHSAA 4-A eastern regional championship game for Leesville Road.
