NC-SC All Star Game Notes
Prep Hoops will be on location for both All-Star games this weekend in the Palmetto State. The North vs South Game in Lexington, SC is scheduled for Saturday afternoon and Prep Hoops Kyle Gibbs will be covering that game. The North Carolina vs South Carolina Game is Saturday night at Socastee HS in Myrtle Beach.
Prep Hoops took in the morning practice for the North Carolina squad at Socastee HS. Originally on the roster was Tyler Maye but, he dropped out earlier this week and was replaced with Ryan Schwieger (Princeton), Donte Tatum and Moses Wright on the roster.
Donte Tatum
Tatum 6’1 who plays at Cary High School just finished up great career for the Imps. Tatum was named SWAC Player of the Year along with 1st Team All-Conference. Tatum converted to a point guard this season is built like a tank and plays like a warrior on the floor with a very quick first step to boot. Tatum scored over 1,800 career points for the Imps.
Moses Wright
Wright 6’8 is a late bloomer from Enloe HS. Wright recently was starting to be recruited by Georgia Tech. Wright had played last summer with Garner Roads B team. Wright was home-schooled for his junior year of high school before surfacing at Enloe HS. Wright showed great ability of knocking down 15-17 footers today and shows great length and moves very well on the court.
Quay Kimble 5’9 point guard from Shelby, NC will look to play his basketball next season at Lees-McRae College (NCAA D2) located in Banner Elk, NC. Kimble averaged over 25 ppg this season for the Golden Lions and was named South Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
Austin Nelson recently committed to USC-Upstate for next season. Nelson finished his high school at North Henderson HS with 2,075 points. Nelson averaged 28.7 ppg this season. Nelson is the 1st ever D1 basketball player to come out of the Blue Ridge Mountain High School.
