The 6-foot senior is averaging 15.7 points per game to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 3 assists per outing. Elkins has a high basketball IQ, knows where to be on the floor, shows leadership qualities and is a solid defender. He has a great motor and knows how to score the basketball. His coach at North Buncombe High School had this to say about his senior, “David has the highest motor of any player I’ve coached. he is the type of scoring point guard that will excel at the next level.”
Mars Hill College and Milligan College have expressed interest in Elkins and he is going to take some visits after the season is complete before making his college decision.
In their quarter final win against Enka High School, Elkins scored a team-high 22 points in the win. “We knew it would be tough playing at their place with their season on the line. They shot lights out but our guys stuck with it. Should be a great game against Erwin High School on Wednesday.”
