A speedy and skilled lead guard, Turner has been the leading scorer for the Little Hawks this season. He defined his playing style to PHIA.
“My strength is getting to the rim and just being physical. And I think being a leader is something I’m good at,” said Turner.
“I think I need to work on my pull-up jumper, right now I’m considered just a catch-and-shoot guy. And I need to work on my release a little bit, it’s a little bit slow.”
Turner is averaging 11.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game this season for City High, and says his role is to be a spark for the team.
“What they ask me to do is just come out with energy. And even though I’m still a young guy they still want me to lead the guys because they look up to me,” said Turner. “So I just need to be a leader and communicate and talk.”
After his sophomore season ends, Turner will head right into his 16U spring. He played with Iowa Dynasty in the past, but is unsure what program he’ll be with this offseason.
Regardless of what program he’s with, getting some recruitment started is the ultimate goal for the speedy guard.
“This summer I’m just hoping to get some more colleges looking at me, and some more scouts because I have none right now,” he said. “But I feel like this summer I will get some looks, and that’s what I’m looking forward to.”
