The Mid-Week High Five
The Upsets
- East Ridge beat #5 Wayzata 75-69. The young Raptors are coming of age.
- Eagan earned his fifth win of the year beating Prior Lake 80-73.
- Byron was supposed to be turning the corner, and then they got smacked by Stewartville 53-35.
- Shakopee with win Three! They beat Farmington.
- Buffalo earned win number four beating St. Francis by two.
Strong Victory
- Apple Valley over Lakeville North for the second time this year, 60-51.
- Columbia Heights defeated St. Anthony 79-63.
- Chaska beating Cooper 91-81 is a very good victory for the Hawks.
- Minneapolis North over Minneapolis Henry 64-53. Big win for the Polars and a huge dunk from Tayler Johnson.
- Red Rock Central beating Mountain Lake 52-43.
Ouch
- Prairie Seeds Academy over Charter Stars 124-56. That more’s than doubled up for you math majors.
- Tartan over South St. Paul 108-33.
- Browerville over Upsala 82-36.
- Remember when we had Faribault ranked? They lost to JM 86-46.
- Cass Lake-Bena 117 over Laporte 51.
Noteworthy
- Minnehaha Academy beat Breck 81-56 before closing the doors for the week because of the flu (not sure which strand).
- New London-Spicer beat Dassel-Cokato 65-58 but Trevor Kaiser scored 30 and hit point 1,000 as a Charger junior.
- Lakeville South over Eastview 81-69 as Jack Sorenson scored five threes and Shae Mitchell scored his 1,000th
- Jackson County Central is quietly positioning themselves for a run. They are 17-3 and just being Worthington by 21.
- Playing in front of his future coach, Zac Olson scored 32 points as WEM beat NRHEG 58-55.
Other
- Then you have Annandale and Hopkins. Royals win 72-71 after being down two scores late. Both sides have complained of officials, there were some interesting subs, interesting mistakes, and a lot of differing conversation about how this one went so Ouch in all ways.
- Mayer Lutheran beat BOLD in overtime. Watch out for the Crusaders.
- Cedar Mountain/Comfrey is another team playing very well. They beat MN Valley Lutheran 88-70.
- Nice win for Mankato West beating Northfield 79-69.
- Richfield beat BSM by six. Richfield is tougher than people think, BSM is losing too many games.
