MVP: TJ Fink (2019) A huge 2nd half from TJ Fink helped lead West Henderson HS to the win as he finishes with 22 points. I was really impressed with his 13 points in the second half for a comeback win. At 6-foot-3, he is a really good shooter and made the big shots when it mattered the most.
Offensive MVP: Will Lindsey (2017) The Anderson University baseball commit was great tonight. Sees everything, uses the head fake near perfectly, hard to stay in front of. Scored 22 points for the winning West Henderson Falcons.
Defensive MVP: Landon Henley (2019) The sophomore big man was getting a ton of rebounds and blocking shots all night. He also scored 20 points for Tuscola. He is 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds. He has wide shoulders and a big frame to control the post.
Best College Prospect: Ben Bryson (2020) Being a coach’s son has it’s perks. His father Joey is one of the most heralded players to come out of West Henderson HS. Bryson shows early signs of stepping right into those footsteps. He will be a player to watch over the next few years.
Unsigned Senior Alert: Anthony Westhusing (2017) Great second half from Anthony Westhusing. Skilled guard that gets up the court in a hurry. Understands the game, long, hard to guard. He scored 19 points with 17 coming in the second half.
Best Freshman: Ben Bryson (2020) The son of West Henderson Head Coach Joey Bryson, Ben is a skilled guard. The freshman made some key baskets tonight in their win. Scored 9 points in 2nd half.
Best Shooter: Brooks Wilson (2017) 2017 G Brooks Wilson of Tuscola HS knocked down five 3’s tonight and finished with 20 points.
Best Passer: Will Lindsey (2017) The senior has a great handle and makes the right pass nearly every time down the floor.
Best Sophmore: TJ Fink (2019) Fink is a do-it-all player for West Henderson, I was impressed with his shooting ability and drives to the paint. He wanted the ball when the game got close and you can’t teach that.
Key to the Game: With Tuscola having built up a big lead, West Henderson clawed back to make it a 8 point game when Joey Bryson was called for a technical foul by stepping out of the coach’s box. West Henderson used this as fuel to make another comeback and eventually win the game.
