MVP | MYLES DREAD | GONZAGA ‘18
Myles Dread was very solid in this game. He led all scorers with 19 points, and also added 5 assists to go along with 4 rebounds. The Penn State commit was the most impactful two-way player in this game.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | MYLES DREAD | GONZAGA ‘18
Dread missed just one shot on 8 total attempts. He hit 3 of 3 from beyond the arc, and 2 of 2 from the charity stripe. The sturdily built 6’4 wing can be a sharpshooter when his feet are set.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | PRENTISS HUBB | GONZAGA ‘18
Prentiss Hubb was excellent defensively, and used his length to create havoc in the passing lanes. The versatile junior was also very active on the boards.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | EDDIE SCOTT | GONZAGA ‘17
Eddie Scott wasn’t the most prolific scorer of the night, but he contributed in a handful of important areas which contributed to the win. The high energy 6’6 forward swiped three steals, and dove on the floor for any loose ball in his area. Scott is known for his hustle, and that’s exactly what he brought last night.
BEST REBOUNDER | PRENTISS HUBB | GONZAGA ‘18
Hubb pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds. The 6’3 lead guard did a great job pushing the ball up the floor after a miss, and boxed out with solid fundamentals.
BEST INTANGIBLES | CHRIS LYKES | GONZAGA ‘17
Chris Lykes had some really nice moments on both ends of the floor last night. The diminutive lead guard took a couple of charges, and was absolutely devastating with the ball in transition. The future Miami Hurricane scored 12 PTS.
BEST PASSER | MYLES DREAD | GONZAGA ‘18
We’ve seen how well Dread passes the ball with Team Takeover, and this season at Gonzaga has been no different. The reliable wing always has his head up with the ball in his hands, and will rarely hesitate to deliver an accurate and timely pass to free up a teammate.
BEST CATCH AND SHOOT GUY | MYLES DREAD | GONZAGA ‘18
Dread possesses a broad set of traits on the court, and shooting is among his best ones. Dread’s jump shot is picture perfect when his feet are set. He gets great rotation, and has a high release point on his high-arching shot.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | TERRANCE WILLIAMS | GONZAGA ‘20
Terrance Williams impressed with his energy, hands, and footwork on the low block. The sturdily-built frosh recorded 9 PTS and 6 REB on 3 of 4 from the field, and 3 of 5 from the line.
BEST STORY TO WATCH MOVING FORWARD
Gonzaga and Paul VI will square off in their third meeting of the season tonight in the WCAC Championship. Widely considered among the best teams in the country, PVI and Gonzaga split their season series. This rubber-match is highly anticipated, and should turn out to be a good one.
