- Trevin Knell is at it again. He ended his stay in Las Vegas at the Tarkanian Classic by scoring 40 points on 6-9 shooting from three.
- Taylor Zwick 6’2 Sophomore from East hits 10 three-pointers against Judge Memorial.
- Kache Koop of Provo scores 33 points in a loss to Herriman.
- Jaxon Brenchley had 35 points for Rideline as they beat Palo Verde, CA.
- Eli Balstead had 29 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Granger.
Five Surprises….
- Hillcrest is 8-1 with their only loss coming from a single digit close game to Woods Cross.
- Junior guard Hunter Erickson of Timpview preforms on the big stage at the Tarkanian Classic.
- 6’6 Nate Harkness is proving his value as he scores 19 against the #1 team in Colorado.
- Judge Memorial will have more wins this year than they have had in the past two years combined.
- Pleasant Grove has been better than expected and their only loss is to Chino Hills. Having the Akina brothers transfer in helps.
Five Upsets…
- Lone Peak beat the #1 team in Colorado in George Washington 89-82 in the Tarkanian Classic.
- Syracuse gets a sneaky win against Springville 61-59. Syracuse improves to 3-3 on the win.
- 2 OT Thriller as Cottonwood beats Cyprus 87-80, 6’4 Andrew Lujan had 21 points in the win.
- Westlake beats Folsom,CA in OT 58-54. Folsom is a Central California Power and a top 30 team in CA.
- Dixie holds of Kearns to win 55-54 to remain undefeated as they beat Riverton too.
Five Noteworthy…
- There are 4 undefeated teams left in Utah, Dixie, Emery, and Panguitch. Emery and Dixie have actually played a challenging schedule, would be surprised if they went undefeated.
- Stockton Shorts scores 31 points against Perry Arizona.
- 6’4 Combo Guard, Connor Foulton of Alta has scored 109 points in his last 5 games combined. He’s a Mid-Major D1 w/ Ivy League grades..
- 6’4 Keanu Akina of Pleasant Grove had 31 points against the best team in the country in Chino Hills. Matt Van Komen had 20 and 20 in the 106-93 loss. A lot of college talents at PG this year.
- 6’5 Junior, Josh Christensen of Jordan had 19 points on 5 threes and also had 8 rebounds. Josh is turning into a high rising talent.
