Stock Risers (Seniors)
The pre-season has come and gone. Several senior players have risen their stock recently with there exceptional play. Here is our list of senior stock risers:
Connor Fulton, 6-4, SR, Guard (Alta) turned some heads down in Arizona at the visitmesa.com Challenge. In four games he averaged 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.5 steal per game. Fulton already has one D1 offer from North Dakota and I feel he should be getting more in the future. He is one of the best overall players in the state of Utah.
Eli Ballstaedt, 6-5, SR, Guard (Wasatch) played very well in the Riverton Holiday Tournament this past weekend. In four games he averaged 23 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Ballstaedt is a great shooter from the three and the mid-range. He has one D2 offer and a preferred walk-on spot at the University of Utah. I’m surprised more D2’s haven’t recruited him at this point.
Richard Guymon, 6-7, SR, Post (Dixie) showed his post skills and his ability to finish over bigger players in the Riverton Holiday Tournament. He averaged 14.5 points and 8 rebounds in four games in route to the championship. Guymon isn’t getting much recruitment and I think he would be a solid get for a D2 or junior college. He needs to work on his quickness and strength for the next level.
Stockton Ashby, 6-3, SR, Guard (Hillcrest) has been the best overall player for the 8-1 Huskies. Over the last three games Ashby has averaged 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists per game. He is a lunch pale type of player and does so much for his team. Ashby’s recruitment has been quiet but I believe is a solid junior college and D2 prospect.
Taylor Peppinger, 6-1, SR, Guard (Murray) torched the nets from the three point line in the Utah Autism Classic this past weekend. He made 16 three pointers in three games and in the game I saw showed he was a very solid defender. I think Peppinger could be a nice role player for a junior college. He needs to develop the rest of his game to become a big time player.
