Hogan Prep (Mo.) v. Basehor-Linwood (Kan.)
Liberty North (Mo.) v. Hayden (Kan.)
Raymore-Peculiar (Mo.) v. Olathe East (Kan.)
Park Hill South (Mo.) v. Blue Valley North (Kan.)
Lee’s Summit North (Mo.) v. Blue Valley Northwest (Kan.)
Lafayette (Mo.) v. Bishop Miege (Kan.)
Diego Bernard, 6’2, 2018, Lafayette (Mo.)
Bernard recently was offered by Northwest Missouri State and we feel interest in the 2018 point guard could grow over the next year. He has really improved his shooting touch which he had struggled with in the past. With a consistent outside game he is a dangerous player as there aren’t many better at attacking the basket.
Jett Canfield, 5’10, 2018, Hayden (Kan.)
We were impressed with the way Canfield runs the show and protects the basketball. He’s a true floor general, drops some impressive dimes, and is hard to take the ball from when the game is on the line.
Damien Daniels, 5’8, 2018, Hogan Prep (Mo.)
Daniels is one of those guys whose game is hard not to like. He plays with passion and energy and despite his height, really attacks the basket hard. He is a terrific leader and has good intangibles.
Javaunte Hawkins, 5’10, 2019, Liberty North (Mo.)
Hawkins might have had the best day of any guard among the six games and 12 teams that competed at the event. He finished with 25 points playing against one of the region’s premier high school teams, holding his own against Blue Valley Northwest guards Darien Jackson, AJ Pleasant and others. He’s listed at 5’10, but we’re not sure he’s that big, but he can really play. Handles it, creates his own shot and really competes.
Samaj Ray, 6’2, 2017, Bishop Miege (Kan.)
This was one of the better performances we have seen from Ray this season as he scored 21 points, handed out a game-high six assists and connected on a pair of 3-pointers. Ray is a terrific all-around performer who has a lot of ability at the defensive end.
Lamel Robinson, 5’11, 2019, Park Hill South (Mo.)
Robinson is earning a reputation as one of the KC area’s top young point guards and he lived up to the hype on Saturday. He finished with 15 in a low-scoring contest against Blue Valley North, but he also outplayed the Mustangs’ backcourt combination of Colby Bullock and Keilon Hunter, one of the better 1-2 punches on the Kansas side of the border.
