Wilson has turned in a monster senior season to this point, averaging better than 20 points per game.
“I think my versatility helps me a lot,” said Wilson. “I can get my jump shot down and I like to post up smaller guys, draw fouls and get to the free throw line.”
As one of two seniors, Wilson’s the old soul on a very young Tigers team. But he’s helping lead them to more wins than many expected.
“We have four sophomores that see a lot of time,” Wilson said. “We have a lot of young guys playing big minutes and I was the only guy with varsity experience coming back. In our conference I think things have been doing pretty well. We weren’t expected to do much so we’re playing like we have nothing to lose.”
Wilson’s got a number of local schools recruiting him and he said one of the big priorities for him will be finding a place where he can play right away.
“I’ve heard from a lot of colleges and I think the DIII level is a good fit for me because I want to play right away,” said Wilson. “St. Mary’s, River Falls and Augsburg have been talking to me a lot.”
Wilson said he’ll continue to weigh his options and make a decision at the end of the basketball season.
Until then, he’ll keep piling up points.
