Though he had two scholarship offers, the 6-foot-8 center has decided that he’ll take the JuCo route instead, and play for Garden City Community College.
“For basketball I have an offer from Southern University and another one from LSU-A, but I have to go to a JuCo first. So I’m going to Garden City in Kansas, I’m signing on signing day.”
The ultimate goal for Tucker?
To end up at in-state SEC program Louisiana State.
“And after two years I’ll be going to a Division I college, my goal is LSU,” he said. “I’ll be in the gym day-in and day-out working to get better, and LSU is my goal.”
He’s been known mostly for his dominance in the paint, but has been working to become a formidable ball-handler of late.
“My post game is what I’m best at, and I’ve been practicing my ball-handling a lot, so I consider myself to be a forward and a center,” said Tucker. “I’m aggressive and I’m really strong, so I can take anyone in the post.”
Throughout his senior season with the Golden Tors, Tucker says his role has been to dominate the glass and do whatever it takes to help get the W.
“They ask me to perform to the best of my ability, and to get as many rebounds as I can. They get me the ball as much as they can every night. And I just have to go out there and perform and go after every rebound, and do whatever it takes for my team to get the win,” said Tucker.
“I just got to go out there and play every game like it’s my last, because you never know what’s going to happen.”
