The junior is especially effective on the defensive end of the floor where he is extremely active getting in passing lanes. He cuts off passes and takes them the other way with lightning speed in transition. Best in the open floor. Slick ball handler that can get to the hoop in one on one situations. Overall has nice vision as a point guard. Low-major prospect in 2018.
He spoke about the transition to his new school.
“I really like it over here. My teammates are helping me out. I couldn’t ask for much more.”
Thornton chatted with us about his season.
“I think I am playing decent. As a team we have come together and are going to have a special season. I am a facilitator for this team because I have so many weapons around me. I can help me out. My defense I pride myself on. As a guard you have to ignite your team.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“I have two offers from Chicago State and UTEP. I have a few more schools looking at me Western Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Nebraska Omaha.”
