The junior has the ability to get in the lane with an explosive first step at will. He can score from there in a variety of ways. His most effective is a mid-range pull up jumper that he hits from all over the court. Is always in rhythm and balanced when shooting it. Plays with a great motor and high energy level. Gets on the glass well for a two guard. Sound defender that is active getting deflections. Should be on the low-major/D2 radar.
He spoke about his junior campaign.
“The season is going well. We have a really good team. Last year we had a lot sophomore and juniors that played varsity so we have a lot of experience. Everybody is hungry. My role is to go out there and play hard every game. Get rebounds and do whatever I can for my team defensively and offensively.”
Gasby ran with Team Rose this past summer.
“It was a really good experience. It was my first time playing on the circuit. We played against really good teams and competition. It opened my eyes to be more competitive on and off the court.”
What are his strengths as a player?
“My strengths as a player is scoring the ball. I am a good rebounder on both ends. My defense is getting better on the perimeter. All-around type player.”
One school has reached out early in the recruiting process.
“I am getting recruited from a D2 Sioux Falls.”
