Continue ReadingAt 6’7” Evanston 2017 power forward Elyjah Williams has a strong build. He is a great area rebounder that boxes out his man and secures the board. As an offensive threat he plays within himself. Williams is physical around the hoop and scores in the paint with strength and a soft touch. Small college prospect.
He spoke about his role on a talented Evanston team.
“I see me as one of our top leaders. Someone that plays the hardest on the floor no matter who we go against. No matter who I guarding I have to play harder than them. Doesn’t matter if they are 6’10” or 5’2”. That is the role I have to play.”
Opened eyes with Hoops Avenue on the circuit. What colleges are looking at him?
“A whole bunch of D3 colleges are talking to me. Hillsdale and Chicago University are a few of them.”
Williams spoke about his game.
“I would describe my game as a versatile player. I can be physical and guard people who are bigger or smaller than me. Get out in transition and pass. Get rebounds and dive on the floor. Get garbage points.”
