The Odessa/Harrington High School 2020 5-10 guard has been putting up staggering numbers in his first year of varsity. He currently averages 29.8 points per game, while shooting 45 percent from the field, 37 percent from the three point line and 83 percent from the free throw line.
“My strength is my shooting ability,” Moffet said. “My shooting ability opens up the rest of my game for other things like being able to beat defenders on the ball.”
Moffet is also a very good offensive player off the ball. He’s able to navigate the floor to find open shots to add to his repertoire. He’s also a decent ball handler that can finish at the hoop in multiple different ways.
“I’ve been working on finishing at the hoop because of my size,” Moffet said. “I’ve definitely improved and become more crafty.”
A couple of things that Moffet wants to work on is his defense and passing. He said that he specifically wants to work on his off ball defense.
His dream is to play college basketball but he knows at the age of 15 he still has a lot of work and maturing to do.
Most of his work will come at the high school level in the 1B Northeast Conference at Odessa/Harrington High School.
“As a freshman playing on a team that’s improving every day the league itself is very competitive and aggressive,” Moffet said. “I am often seeing box and ones, triangle and twos, and being face guarded by fully mature seniors.”
